Blog Entry 6

The archetype I chose was the warrior. They are set out to the save the day. They are looked upon. When nobody has anymore hope then that’s where the warrior comes out to sweep everybody off their feet and save the day. The warrior is someone that’s tough, courageous, and not afraid of any circumstances. They are out to set goals and overcome goals. The warrior is out to win and will move anything in his way that is stopping him. In What Story are You Living? by Carol S. Pearson and Hugh K. Marr the warrior is labeled as someone who fights only for what matters, someone goal oriented, out to win, and an individual with success. The warrior’s challenge is to bring meaning to what they do. They choose their battles wisely using their wisdom, courage, and their discipline. They have a big sence of determination.
An individual that could be seen as a warrior could be someone that is in the military. They sign up to the military to serve their country. They are out there to defend their country at any costs. A marine’s job is to protect and serve our country. They risk their lives everyday when they are at war. These individuals have no fear of anything that is confronting them. The marine is a strong individual who is looked at as a hero. They are determined to do their job. They fight for what matters which is their country including their family and friends. This quote by Abraham Lincoln is what really defines a marine "Most people wonder if they've made a difference in the world but Marines, they don't have that problem".

Blog Entry 5

In this English 102 class I have learned a lot. I have learned about the different types of poetry and about all types of things that are labeled as symbolism. I have improved my writing and reading with different strategies. In my opinion the blog entries are usually interesting topics. I prefer writing at home on my computer instead of writing in class on paper. When I am home, I could listen to music and do my blog entries at the same time. The most interesting thing I’ve learned about this class is all the different meanings some words have. Also, what some words represent. Before I started the course I thought we would have group meetings online at home, but we do not obviously. I thought class would take on at home and at school. I thought we would have to meet in an online chat one week and then in person the next week. So far I’ve enjoyed this class and have learned a few things I never knew about.  This class is very different from ENG 101 because in ENG 101 you would barely write essays. In my opinion it was more of a class to improve your reading skills. This class is a little tougher than ENG 101 but it’s not that hard of a class. If you know what you’re doing then you should be fine. Also, if you’re up to date with your work then you should pass. The grading rubric is reasonable.
