Blog Entry 7

The archetype that I found confusing was the magician. The magician who is scared of using their own powers. They have the ability to influence people and make visions into realities. The magician doesn’t do magic but transforms something or someone in some way. He/she could be feared because of the powers they hold. I do not understand why the magician doesn’t use all this power that they posses. What is the point of having a power if you’re not going to put it to use? The magician is looked down as an evil sorcerer, does this mean the magician involves itself in witchcraft? It has the power to make illusions appear, I believe this is not a good thing because could believe something that isn’t true. The magician holds a power which is good and at the same time bad. This archetype lives in a confusing world and can’t really decide who he/she wants to be. The magician doesn’t really want to use their power and has a different way of solving their problems. Magicians could be seen as inspirational character, in other words a guru. Magicians have an idea of how to solve something always. An example of a magician archetype in my own opinion would be Steve Jobs. Before Jobs, people would think computers were for geeks and nerds. Steve Jobs made that change and now people see the Apple logo as a fashion trend.
